About Sunny Campaign

Sunny Campaign is an European campaign on renewable resources run by member organizations of Youth and Environment Europe federation and its friends. The main aim of Sunny Campaign is to encourage citizens to take active part in transition to zero-waste Solar economy - sustainable use of renewable energies and materials as a way of climate change solutions and sustainability implementation.

How it works?

Our mission is to create an European web of institutions and individuals working on the topic of renewables - NGOs, commercial companies, expert groups, students and municipalities - and inform people about existing environmentaly friendly and healthy alternatives in areas of energy, transport, eco-housing...

We want

  • to create a space for exchanging knowledge, skills and ideas;

  • to promote partners work among European citizens;

  • to support legislative changes at national and European level;

Planned actions:

  1. running webpages www.sunnycampaign.net as an information platform

  2. « Best examples » postcard book and exhibition (February - August 2008)

  3. Local events for promoting the campaign and its partners (summer 2009)

We are searching for partners!

Forward green festivals: Campaign for more ecological cultural events

About the "Greener festivals" project:

Greener festivals project was organised by six environmental non-profit associations from Czech Republic (Konopa, Youth and Environment Europe, Eurosolar.cz), Slovakia (SOSNA) and Hungary (Nimfea, Green Action) in May 2009 - May 2010 period.
It is a part of a long-term campaign for sustainable life, Sunny campaign run by Konopa and Youth and Environment Europe federation since 2005.

With the Greener festivals project we wanted mainly to:

  • Decrease negative impact of cultural events on the environment by transfer of knowledge and good practices;
  • Show to people different ecological techniques and how to apply them in their daily lives;

How did we do it?
We organised pilot festivals where we will show richness of greener solutions as much as possible “in action”: sustainable transport, local food, water management, energy use, compostable toilets and dishes or separation of garbage.

We invited different festival organisers, environmental NGOs and environmentally oriented companies – renewable energies, materials and sustainable techniques suppliers – to round tables where we want to establish a long-term partnership and design the best model of cooperation with intend to decrease negative impact of cultural events on the environment.

We created the “greener festivals guideline” with good practices that will help to share experience and facilitate conversion of cultural festivals to more sustainable ones.
